Zakhele Madida (born May 26, 1980) is a South African singer, record producer, and businessman with the stage name Zakes Bantwini. A native of KwaMashu F-section in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He has collaborated with fellow musician Black Coffee on the song “Juju.”
While attending Global Citizen NOW’s leadership summit in New York, Osama met up with American star Pharrell Williams. Zakes posted images from the event to his Instagram timeline on Tuesday.
“With music we can create change. Big shout out to my brother in music: Pharrell, and Global Citizen,” he wrote.
The #GlobalCitizenNOW summit brought together more than 300 leaders from the private sector, advocacy, entertainment, government, and philanthropy sectors to address global poverty and protect the planet.
A panel of global citizens including the former prime minister of Norway Erna Solberg, singer-songwriter, producer, and advocate MILCK, prime minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, and actor, singer, director, author, and award-winning musician Pharrell Williams shared their views and ideas.
In its 10th year, the Global Citizen Festival aims to defend the planet and fight poverty.
