A month after AKA’s untimely passing, the authorities provided an update on the ongoing homicide inquiries.
Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, the commissioner of the KwaZulu-Natal Police, provided an update on ongoing homicide investigations, including one involving AKA, during a press conference. The commissioner disclosed that they have been making connections as a result of the available CCTV footage.
“We wish to encourage communities to join and share knowledge. The majority of the work we’ve done so far on the investigation into the murder of Mr. Forbes last month was made possible by community assistance,” he said
Mkhwanazi claims that camera footage captured on the day of the incident are assisting his team’s analysis and identification of some of the potential participants and aiding them to form connections.
Bheki Cele, the police minister, revealed a few weeks ago that the police were gathering mobile data for inquiries.
After his tragic death, Mzansi experienced another famous passing. AKA’s friend Costa Titch passed away while performing at the Ultra South Africa concert in Nasrec, Johannesburg. Since then, a probe has been opened by the authorities to ascertain what caused his untimely demise.
